George Washington Gale Ferris, Jr. was an American engineer. 
He is mostly known for creating the original Ferris Wheel

I took these images in Ocean City, New Jersey while visiting my brother and sister-in-law. 
The video below is a little shaky at the end when I lost my balance.  Ii was a sort of light show.

  1. I don't mind going on a small Ferris Wheel but big ones scare the crapola out of me. For example, in the UK I did NOT go on the London Eye.

  2. Having never looked up the history of the Ferris wheel I for some reason thought it was the construct of a Frenchman. They are pretty to watch at night when you can really see the light show they produce.
