National Static Electricity Day

I never knew there was a national static electricity day.  While I was surfing the web I came across it.

A cat and balloons:

Never get back into the car while filling it at the gas pump.  It causes static electricity from rubbing on the seat.

My son in law caught me doing this once.  Thank God no spark or fire.

If you want to know a few scientific details go to:

  1. I tried to think of a really interesting experience with static electricity and came up blank. You left me speechless.

  2. My car seat often does this. My favorite thing to do is hold my keys and touch it with something metal. It causes the spark but you don't feel a thing. Mean kids used to go up and down in their seats in school to get static and shock people holding a quarter.

  3. Good grief! There is just about a day for everything these days.

  4. If you drop your cell phone on the ground you could burst into flames also. Not real likely but possible.
