My substitution for the recipe below is to add the chicken, potatoes and carrots. But instead of adding the herbs, oil, spices, etc.; I only added Honey Mustard Salad Dressing. The results were fantastic!
I might try other salad dressings someday.
Do you have a way to prevent the dish from becoming a bit too soggy?
Do you have any quick lazy recipes you'd like to share?
Instead I only used:
Chicken
Potatoes
Carrots
Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

This looks really delicious. And very easy to prepare!
ReplyDeleteThis is a recipe I am going to have to try. Looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering. Yum. Most of my recipes are quick. I no longer have to feed a husband and kids so I take it easy.
ReplyDeleteIf you Google slow cookers you might find a hint about reducing the liquid in a slow cooked recipe. It depends on where the liquid is coming from to start with, how much you are adding, and so on. I believe you can "crack" the lid for the last hour of cooking to let some of the liquid cook off, but please verify that with a reputable site because I wouldn't want to cause you food poisoning from food being below temperature for too long :)
ReplyDeleteThanks jenny, I'll have to check that out.
DeleteI love chicken ... I would use swede (rutabaga) in place of the potatoes, as it doesn't raise husband Eddie's blood sugar numbers too high.

Thanks, I'm going to try the information the next time I use the crock pot.
DeleteWhat part was soggy? I don't have experience with cookers. But as for quick recipes, tonight we're just having rice, spinach and for hubby chicken and for me, beans. Followed up with apple cinnamon cake. Nothing fancy. Simple but good.
ReplyDeleteMuch luck with the soggy. I wish I could help but I'm out of my depth when it comes to cookers.
chicken is permanent part of routine though but this one is new .
ReplyDeletei never added honey while cooking any dish though
I love using my slow cooker in the summer time. Who wants to cook over a hot stove when its 117F outside and the air conditioner barely keeps it livable? lol The only way I've found to keep dishes frm becoming less soggy was to add less liquid but that's hit or miss when using a slow cooker.
