Planning Time to Do Nothing

A few quotes about nothing.  I tend to plan to be always doing something.  Feeling guilty about wasting time or missing out has a lot to do with it.

When I do spend time without specific plans I enjoy it. Maybe setting aside more time to just exist would be good.

Any thoughts?

  1. I sometimes feel that way, too, especially now that my husband and I are empty nesters. But there's no reason to feel guilty. We all need moments where we do nothing. We don't have to fill up every hour of the day with 'something'.

  4. Here are my two favourite quotations on this topic --

"Time is precious. Waste it wisely."

    and

"How lovely it is to do nothing, and then rest afterwards."

  5. I am on the other end of the spectrum, John - I have to make myself do the things I need to do. Too bad people couldn't trade bits of their personalities with each other until they were more balanced!
