One Day at a Time

Lately, I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed by my health problems and Lynette's health problems.  It would be good if one of us was healthy so he can take care of the other one. Now it depends on how each one of us feels on a particular day. Looking for some encouragement, I skimmed through the web. Here's something that helped: (I couldn't get the size right so click on it to make it legible)

Meaningful Philosophy from a Cartoon Character I don't remember where but I read somewhere that in those days sailors had muscular forearms from tying knots with the heavy ropes of the sails and pulling anchors on the ship. Planning Time to Do Nothing

A few quotes about nothing.  I tend to plan to be always doing something.  Feeling guilty about wasting time or missing out has a lot to do with it.   When I do spend time without specific plans I enjoy it. Maybe setting aside more time to just exist would be good. Any thoughts?

Corporatism

I'm usually not very political but there are strange things going on lately.  I don't want to believe what I see.  It's very discouraging.  Hopefully I'm wrong. Here are two scary quotes I found. "Democracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy. You in America will see that some day."   Mussolini “Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land, they own and control the corporations they've long since bought and paid for, the senate, the congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pocket, and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and the information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what

A Few Quotes

Not So Funny "Trickle-down economics" and the "trickle-down theory" are terms in United States  politics to refer to the idea  that tax breaks or other economic benefits provided by government to businesses and upper income levels will benefit poorer members of society by improving the economy as a whole. .. "Mr.  David Stockman  has said that supply-side economics  was merely a cover  for the trickle-down approach to economic policy —what an older and less elegant generation called the horse-and-sparrow theory : 'If you feed the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the sparrows.'" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics Wise
