Changing the Battery, What Could Be Easier?

The man who takes care of the yard for us used to be a mechanic. I paid him to do it for me. But he didn’t know how difficult it would be. The battery is located under the car!  You can’t reach it from under the hood even if you take apart the hardware.  He had to jack up the car in front, b ut still could not get to it.   So he removed the front wheel and crawled under. There was still not much room. By squeezing his hand into the small space he finally got to the battery. The driveway was filled with the tools he used.  A 20 minute job took about an hour. He’d never seen such a thing. We had a good laugh and wondered what the designer was thinking. The engine runs like new, very quiet Here's a video I found that explains it better: The video seems not to work for me so here's the link. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3myE0Vfdt0&t=10s Copy and paste if you have to I still love the car. After over 20 years and two big accidents it runs like new.

My Brother Anthony's Birthday

Oxalis Triangularis Also called False Shamrock or Purple Shamrock   My brother loves his houseplants. He even keeps a list to grow the ones that are safe for his location. So I bought a wooden potted set with the shamrocks already planted and ready to grow. This was great because he just had surgery on his right hand and it would be difficult to work with soil.  I also bought one for myself. I took these photographs a few years ago.  My daughter bought them for me after I admired hers. I was able to get some n ice shots of its flowers. Here is a closeup of the tiny flowers.

Halloween is Almost Here (from an earlier post)

I set up this photo from a miniature mask and the reflection of another mask in a mirrored ornament. I used red plastic to get the red eyes. You have to click on some pop down links to get to the final location. I don't know why, something new. Some links are intense! Full screen & sound are often better. Opera Aficionado

I'm still trying to install the hand controls on my car. When I get down low I get woozy and fall over sometimes before I can work on the pedals. Also I have to get the strength to hand tighten the attachments to the pedals. I ran out of energy. I'll try again in a few days. Here is a dog who loves the opera. I found this on the web. I was not able to copy it on to this post but here's the link. Enlarge the image to better see the dog's expressions. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dog+sings+along+with+pavarotti

I've Decided to Try Hand Controls on My Car

(from Amazon) A few days ago an old friend called me. It was a great and pleasant surprise. We've sent Christmas cards to each other but nothing else.  This has been going on for about 30 years now! He invited me to come up to visit him. Maybe we can be better in touch now.  The problem is that I can't drive the three hours to get there. It's not safe. My neurological condition is worse. Instead of CIDP I have involvement of the axon not just the nerve myelin cover of the nerves in my lower legs.  I can't control my feet very well while driving. Sometimes moving my foot from the gas to the break pedal is difficult. It doesn't always happen but I can't predict it. Most recently I had to put the car in Park to stop it.  Luckily I was going very slowly. I don't want to hurt anyone or myself so I have not been driving. Asking someone to take me places is difficult. Using Uber or Lyft taxi service is very expensive.  Doctor visits, going to the pharmacy, gettin

Some Mornings

I found this online. The way I feel today. I'm trying different fonts. This one looks like handwriting to me. It's the Beth Ellen font.

Joining Her for a Bath

I took and edited this photograph, giving it a soft appearance.

Found This

I found this photo a while ago in my collection of old family items.  Not sure if we are related or how.  It was in worse condition than this  but I improved it with some difficult editing.  I plan to take it to a professional someday.

NATURE: You Can't Always Get What You Want

A Little Foggy Headed But Slowly Getting Back into Blogging

  Not Yet (maybe someday?)

Happy Earth Day

I couldn't let Earth Day pass without a post. Here's a short video I found on Youtube: My neurologist's office called yesterday.   He wants me to set up a second opinion for my treatment.  Wish me luck.

An Ouroboros With Strange Side Symbols

Sorr y I haven't been posting or visiting your blogs lately.  It seems my CIDP is getting worse. My physical therapist is not going to come anymore. I think it's because Medicare will stop paying for a therapist if there is no progress. In my case I've been slowly getting worse.  I'm keeping up with a set of exercises he gave me, like walking for five minutes several times a day and using a four pound dumbell. My neurologist told me it's the nature of my condition. It can get better for a while then relapse.  It can completely disappear.  It can get worse. I don't want to go back to using a wheelchair. Enough of the melodrama. -----  I found this ouroboros surrounded by other symbols. Let me know what you think they could mean. Some of them look like to me but not what they could actually mean. Here are the symbols: Simple enough, I guess. It could be a sword with a  laser projection. ----- Some sort of rooster/wolf in front of a crescent moon? ----- Sperm? Is t

How to Make My Blog Better?

Lap Harp or Zither or Psaltery...

I really don't know much about playing music. I can't read the notes and I'm not sure if  my hands are agile enough. But when I came across the lap harp while I was looking through Amazon, it seemed easy enough to try. You don't have to know how to read the music sheets and anyone can play it right away. It's sometimes advertised for use by children but I found some videos on Youtube where it was played very well by adults. Anyway, it might encourage me to move on to other easy instruments. Above are photos of my lap harp. As you can see I only have to pick at the notes on the inserted music sheet, easy enough for kids. It's not me playing but here's my skill level: Expert musicians seem to be playing without sheet music: Lamento Di Tristano - 14th century Italian Renaissance tune The man in this video must love the instrument: Right now I'm trying to get my harp in tune. There's a free tuner for the iphone called "Plusadd lite" I had t
