REFLECTIONS

  I found these two photos on the web with explanations about how thy were made. There might be other photos that can't be explained. I like this photo the best so far. Explanation: "A jewelry engraver named William Mumler was the first enterprising mind to combine the emerging fields of spiritualism and photography for profit. Mumler’s hobby for photography paid off one day in the early 1860s when he sat for a self-portrait. He discovered a ghostly figure standing behind him as he developed the photo, which he originally believed to be the remnants of a previous image.  .. why do  we refer to large letters as upper case, and small as lower case? It’s actually a remnant  of a past where printing presses had manually set letters. Small letters, which were used  the majority of the time, were kept in the lower, easier to access case. Have you noticed that a day does not pass without hearing the word "literally". I play a game with my wife about "literally". Whenever we hear it we repeat it loudly. It's often on TV shows and speeches, even from Congress. We hear it more often than expected. Pay attention and you'll see what I mean.
