This is our front door with the wreath we put up every year. I use a green spotlight to make it visible at night.
I've spent the last several days starting to prepare for Christmas. I can't believe it's December already. Maybe the mild weather has something to do with it.
Instead of our artificial tree this year we bought a tiny live tree. I did not notice that the care instructions were still attached when I took the photo! It's only 4 feet tall but more than enough for the two of us. When we put it on a box it looks taller. We'll drape a white cloth over the box to hide it.
I have the presents picked out for Lynette and just have to order two of them on-line and pick one up at Target. She asked me what I want but as usual I have no idea. I don't want clothes and I don't wear jewelry. I have to search around then if I don't see anything I'll pick something at random.

The last photo is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas is a good size, we have had a few real live over the years..
I shot the last photo just after sunset while I was photographing my front door.
DeleteWe love live trees! And we've downsized a bit. This year we went from 12 ft to 8 ft... but the boys still had to help us get it inside. I imagine they will continue to get smaller as the years go by and if the boys are not around to help. But your tree is lovely. We have a small artificial tree that we bought for the outside cats...with a few artificial ornament to knock around and a red christmas box full of hay under it to lie in...
ReplyDeleteThey are lucky cats.
DeleteJohn, your last photo is stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore your tree and understand what you are saying.
Christmas is celebrated at our house so we decorate like crazy...but I love it!!!
Pick out something neat~
Enjoy decorating. I'll try to get into the spirit.
DeleteWe haven't decorated our house beside the tree
ReplyDeleteWe still have to decorate ours.
DeleteThat's a nice tree you've got!
ReplyDeleteI felt bad that we had to return the first tree we brought home because it was bent almost to a right angle. It was dark and we were in a hurry when we bought it. They exchanged it with no problem.
DeleteI like the idea of the green light to show off the wreath. Getting ready for Christmas is work but it is so rewarding.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
