Neodymium Magnets Save the Day

In the package I bought each battery disc has an adhesive backing
and the north and south ends are labeled.

The door to the clock would not stay closed. Same thing for a wine cabinet.
Their magnets lost their strength over the years.

The Original Magnet

I placed a magnet on top of the old magnet to see how it would work.

They are very powerful.

BUT I USED THE ADHESIVE AS AN EXTRA PRECAUTION

  1. Is there even a remote chance that they could be knocked off and end up where your grandchildren can get them, John? I see the warning on the package and although I imagine you have thought of it, I couldn't NOT mention my concern, because if a child ingests a magnet it can be life-threatening.

If you've considered that, job well done :)

    1. I thank you so much. Initially I put my faith in the strength of the magnets BUT now I'm going to add the adhesive just in case. I feel a bit dumb for not thinking of this before.
You are a real lifesaver my friend,

    3. Thanks for letting me know! I felt like I was putting my oar in where it might not belong, but I just didn't want anything like that to be overlooked. I'm glad you didn't mind.

  2. Good solution, and a good idea to use adhesive.

    All the best Jan
