I set the base of the stove on "furniture cups" to protect the carpet.
The Finished Project
I used a small lamp with a dim bulb to let the stove act as a decorative lamp stand.
The stove is a deep black and I couldn't get the details to show in this photo.
The hardest part after moving the heavy sections of the stove was inserting four screws and nuts to prevent it from shaking. Finding the right sizes and reaching into the stove made it difficult. But now I'm finished.
I love it but am maybe a little sad it doesn’t get to do what it was meant to do. Well done on making it look fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYour pot belly stove looks great, but to bad it is not in a location where it can be used. Nothing like a hot fire in a stove to take the winter chill off.
ReplyDeleteI hope it will still be happy.
DeleteLooks great! Just the perfect height for a lamp side table!
ReplyDeleteIt was Lynette's idea. I just thought of it as a decoration.
DeleteIt is a beautiful addition for that part of the room. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you Emma.
DeleteTerrific idea to put a lamp on it! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt was my wife's idea.

ReplyDeleteWow, that looks incredible. Very decorative! And the basement looks fantastic, too. A really cozy place to relax in.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice place to hide, especially when it's cold outside.
DeleteLooks wonderful, you certainly did a marvellous job on it.
ReplyDeleteIt came out better than I thought.
DeleteMarvelous stove John
ReplyDeleteyou did excellent job as it looks great .
you captured it wonderfully as look is artistic to me
nuts and screws are always tough part of job sometimes they can take Loots of time and energy (one of my brother in law doe;s the mechanical job)
It's funny how four screws can be so difficult to tighten.
