Caro Emerald - The Ghost Of You

I found this on a post from:  Link: The Low Carb Diabetic

Remember Northern Exposure?

I was cleaning up my desk when I came across an old music CD on the TV series Northern Exposure.  I enjoyed that series so much! Here are a few videos: Theme Song Scenes from the Series Reunion

Jessica Jones

A different superhero  intended for adults,  not a story for kids.  When a tragedy puts an end to her short-lived career as a superhero, Jessica settles in New York City and opens her own detective agency, called Alias Investigations... Suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome,  Jessica wants to do good, but her primary interest isn't in saving the world...it's...in getting through each day. (from Wikipedia) Use full screen and loud enough to enjoy. The series is on Netflix.

Paloma Blanca

I didn't mean to make it the title of a song  when I posted the image of a white flying dove yesterday. REFLECTIONS: This Week's Image  But here it is, with the lyrics. Enjoy.

Two Russian Dance Videos

Lynette  found these wonderful dances while surfing the web.   Use full screen and sound.   I hope you enjoy. Military I think they're ballet dancers. The dance moves are great. I especially like this one. They're amazing. These women are so graceful, they appear to float. The second half becomes more complex.

A Sailor Aint a Sailor Aint a Sailor Anymore.

NYC Subway Music

From Basic to Professional Basic A Trio Spreading Joy Definitely Professional They must have rented time to perform.  Maybe it was at the NYC Subway Museum.

Why Me!

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing revival band from Southern California.  This video is great & fun.

Don't Forget Your Old Shipmate

Another Horror Thriller

Just before bedtime I like to watch a little TV.  It doesn't interfere with my sleeping and I'm just about too tired to do anything else. Last night I watched a horror movie called Within that surprised me.  It fell into a standard plot; same story with different backgrounds, actors and details. Here's the blurb: The trailer: Not a new idea but it was still fun to watch. The song at the end of the movie while the credits were being shown is perfect for the movie. Maybe they should have put it at the start or somewhere in the middle.  I never heard of the group for "Are You Alone Now?".

All I Want Is You

I just saw this wonderful movie Juno  about a young girl who becomes pregnant and has to deal with the problems that it causes. Anyway, here's a song from the movie. This video shows the lyrics with a cute cartoon. Oh no! Guess what? A one man band!

Angel of the Morning Meanings

What are your thoughts about the lyrics to this old hit? Some interpretations from the web: ~I thinks she is basically saying I'll have you however I can but if you feel you need to leave in the morning, don't feel too guilty about it. ~I always thought it was a woman who was desperately in love with the guy, but knew he couldn't (or wouldn't) commit, so she's willing to settle for one night with him, and just wants him to call her an angel in the morning, even though he's just going to leave and not come back. ~I think that the song is about a woman who is taking the chance of 'going all the way' to 'show her love' to a man who may or may not love her. It seems to be a rather young girl perhaps her first sexual encounter, trying to be grown up and mature. From Yahoo Answers:

Dog & Grandma Christmas Carols

These two songs make me laugh each year.  I found a video of what seems to be dogs actually barking the song without some sort of technical electronic modification. Here's Grandma's Song

Early One Morning Just as the Sun Was Rising

I'd like to share this wonderful yet sad old English ballad that Lynette found on the web.

The Best On-Hold Music I've Ever Heard

Click here to listen Does anyone know the title and composer? On the web no one seems to know.  It's not Golden Dragon.  A few people called the corporate office but they had no idea.  It's a mystery. I've heard it was created specifically for large corporations with no name and no credit given to the composer. CVS, the drugstore chain, uses it as their on-hold music. Here's someone on the piano playing it:

National Lazy Day August 10

"Today there will not be much information regarding this annually celebrated holiday as we do not feel like doing any research.  Actually, we do not feel like doing anything at all.  So we are in our hammocks with a couple of good books and glasses of lemonade and iced tea.  Yes, it is National Lazy Day and we choose to be lazy other than telling you that this holiday is observed each year on August 10th.  The creator and origin of National Lazy Day could not be found." What can I say?  Once in a while it's good to just relax.  Turn up the sound and enjoy!

Fitz and the Tantrums

I first heard this song at the end of a movie during the credits. Hand Clap Here's another song I like. Walker Did you ever feel like this?

There Is Always One More Time

If your whole life somehow Wasn't much 'til now And you've almost lost Your will to live No matter what you've been through Long as there's breath in you There is always one more time And if your dreams go bad Every one that you've had That don't mean that some dreams Can't come true 'Cause it's funny about dreams As strange as it seems There is always one more time Oh turnin' corners Is only a state of mind Keeping your eyes closed Is worse than being blind If there's a heart out there Looking for someone to share I don't care if it's been Turned down time and time again And if we meet one day Please don't walk away 'Cause there is always one more time There is always one more time

Coin Operated Boy

The Dresden Dolls are an American musical duo from Boston, Massachusetts. Formed in 2000, the group consists of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione.   I've never heard of them but the video is interesting in a strange sort of way. "Palmer expounds on the many advantages an artificial partner has over real ones in a tick-tock rhythm reminiscent of  automata .  The song has broad overtones of loneliness and a desire for a relationship with idealized physical affection  but no personal sacrifice  or chance of getting emotionally hurt."  ~Wikipedia The video may seem "stuck" in the middle but it's part of the song.
