Is There Life After Death?

Ideas and images from a post on the "i09" weblog   8 Great Philosophical Questions That We'll Never Solve I found a post titled "8 Great Philosophical Questions That We'll Never Solve" It was from the i09 weblog. I decided to share my ideas about these questions. Let me know what you think. "Materialists assume that there's no life after death, but it's just that — an assumption that cannot necessarily be proven." "... there's no reason to believe that we only have one shot at this thing called life."   I believe this is a matter of faith, not logic.   I've heard of uploading a person's soul into the internet; continuing life after death by surfing the "web world".  I've heard of moving the soul into a new artificial body.  Just like replacing a leg or hand with a manufactured body part; the soul would be transferred from the dying body into a new body.

Does God Exist?

I decided to share my ideas about these questions. Let me know what you think. "We do not know enough about the inner workings of the universe to make any sort of grand claim about the nature of reality and whether or not a Prime Mover exists somewhere in the background."  ~George Dvorsky From my point of view believing there is a God involves having faith, not logic.  You have a feeling or yearning for something more than this life followed by nothing.

Do We Have Free Will?

I decided to share my ideas about these questions. Let me know what you think. "But if we don't have free will, then why did we evolve consciousness instead of zombie-minds?" I believe we have some free will but not completely.  Here's my idea: The adventure of life is like sailing in a small ship.  We can adjust the sails and rudder but the wind and waves are mostly in control.   Reaching our goals, changing them when the situation proves they are unobtainable, recovering from unexpected hardships, succeeding when it seems all is lost; in the end we have much less control than we believe.  This makes life scary but it also makes it exciting and enjoyable.

Is Our Universe Real?

I decided to share my ideas about these questions. Let me know what you think. "...how do we know that what we see around us is the real deal, and not some grand illusion perpetuated by an unseen force." -George Dvorsky Maybe I am the only thing that is real, while everything else is only an illusion! It's too strange for me to believe that my whole experience of life is not real but I can't prove it .

Why Is There Something Rather Than Nothing?

Ideas and images from a post on the "i09" weblog   8 Great Philosophical Questions That We'll Never Solve I found a post titled "8 Great Philosophical Questions That We'll Never Solve" It was from the i09 weblog. I decided to share my ideas about these questions. Let me know what you think.  " Why is there all this  stuff  in the universe, and why is it governed by such exquisitely precise laws?  And why should anything exist at all?" ~Sean Carroll I have no idea why the world is the way it is. I'm used to the way things seem to be but just not why. Science finds how some things work, not why. Most of the laws of science are too complicated for me to understand. They seem like magic. Possibility : A religious person might say that it's the way God wants it.  Maybe that's the answer to this question.  As for me, I'm just not sure.  It would be great to have a stronger faith.

Laura's Not Here

I'm trying to learn Italian by studying some free internet sites. I came across this video. It's about a man who can't forget the woman he loves. She rejected him but he can't get her out of his mind, even when he is with another woman. It's very sad and romantic.  Here is a rough translation of a few lyrics: Laura doesn't belong to me anymore It's foolish to seek her in you I don't wanna be with you while I think of her If you want to we can make love now, if you want It can't be the same between us It's just not enough when you're with me It's crazy to see her in your eyes. Bow & Arrow Technique: Short Historical Lessons

While surfing the web I found these interesting videos.  They show a realistic view of the bow and arrow. The English longbow archers seem to be the best. There are 3 videos. I'm not sure why but I could not copy these videos directly to this post.  However, here are the links: 3]Conquest TV series - Bow and Arrowyoutube.com7-21 3]Conquest TV series - Bow and Arrowyoutube.com7-44 3]Conquest TV series - Bow and Arrowyoutube.com6-24
