Restarting My Blog Statistics

I was hoping to make a little money by joining Google AdSense.

That was when I noticed I had an unbelievable number of views from Russia.

As soon as I stopped putting AdSense ads on my blog the Russian views gradually declined until they stopped altogether.

From Russia
Date on left. # of views on right

Now the statistics look more realistic even though I can't understand why France is so high.

Something strange is going on.
The statistics are not real.
I'm finished with Adsense.  Besides, the blog looks better without ads.
Maybe I'll also just stop looking at the statistics; but I'm curious.

Do you have any thoughts?

  1. I'm just as confused about all this as you are. My statistics show some crazy numbers, too!

  2. Isn't blogging an adventure, John :)
Speaking just for myself...I never look at the adds on any of the blogs I visit.

    1. I don't either. I use the "Ghostery" application to stop advertisers from tracking my blog.

  3. Your findings generate more questions than I can list. The whole thing could be an insidious plot or something wonderful. Further investigation is required.

  4. I also have a very high number of views from France. The only explanation, the French have very good taste! Vive la France!

  5. You know I wasn't aware you had adds on your blog...because I have an add blocker which does block those adds on many sites.
The countries that visit your blog - well that's just too weird!

    1. I only used the ads for about a week or so. I don't like the way they look. No more ads for me.

I enjoy reading your comments.
I'll visit your blog.
