So Many Ways to Make Coffee

Today there's cold brew coffee and Keurig coffee cups and who knows what else will come up.  I'm using a Keurig coffeemaker right now and drink about two cups a day.  I like it because there is very little preparation or cleanup.  The price of the coffee cups is high when compared to regular coffee but the ease of use is great.  The plastic empty coffee cups cluttering the land fills is a problem.

Here's a fun video about some ways coffee is prepared.

Reminds me of how I feel when I drink too much coffee.

  1. Hi John :) I have a Tassimo, but it's back in the box because the pods just got too expensive for me. We're in savings mode currently but once we get settled down in a few years, I want to bring it out again. I use an old coffee machine for now. I also have a French press which I used to love, but it needs a replacement filter, so again, back in the box for now! :) But I only drink decaf since about a year ago. Cutting out the caffeine has helped lessen my generalized anxiety big time! :)

    1. Sometimes the old coffee makers make better coffee.

  2. I never developed a taste for coffee so I don't drink it. I do wish to remind you that your labor is worth more than what you spend on the Keurig coffee.

    1. True, it is more of a luxury than a necessity.

  3. I do enjoy a good cup of coffee. I always have two in the morning and that's about it. In the evenings I prefer to have a nice cup of herbal tree. I find it really helps me sleep better.

  4. Not a great coffee drinker and only usually have 1 cup of tea a day, so I drink water.
The first video was good, can remember having a coffee peculator when first married - was the thing to have.
Have a coffee machine here at home but use fresh beans, mainly for guests that come.

    1. I remember my mother used to save half a pot of coffee in the refrigerator to use later.

  5. The Aron Chupa video has a very catchy tune! And yes, that's how caffeine used to make me feel too. I can't drink any kind of caffeine now and have to watch how much chocolate I eat. It doesn't take much to mess me up!

    1. Sometimes I have a little trouble with chocolate. Maybe coffee is not so good for me either. I'm not sure but it just tastes so good and energizes me.

  7. We love coffee and have probably used every way to make it... plain ol' fresh ground drip is probably my favorite. But we do have a Keurig (yes, too convenient), and a French Press. I'm not a Starbucks person, but do stop for a Tall Mocha on occasion.

  8. I think Starbucks is a little over roasted, sort of almost burnt.

  9. My go to drink is a cup of tea, especially first thing in the morning.
Coffee is such a popular drink but I don't drink it that often, unlike husband Eddie who prefers it to tea :)

    All the best Jan

Understanding the Introvert

I have to admit it. I'm an introvert and this article explains it best. I need friends as much as anyone but I just find it difficult.  Anyway, I'm better off this way than being with people who are phony and manipulative.  Here is a copy of the article from the "Lifehack" site: http://www.lifehack.org/articles/communication/you-didnt-get-why-you-couldnt-get-along-with-introverts-before-you-read-this-youll-understand-after.html The website is on my list of interesting sites.

QWERTY vs DVORAK Keyboard

I never knew there was a different type of keyboard like DVORAK instead of QWERTY (named after the first six letters on the left of the first row) , at least not in English or similar languages. Chinese has a modified QWERTY keyboard something like: Or maybe this keyboard below is purely Chinese: Back to English:  The video below explains why the QWERTY keyboard is used almost 100% today and some future possibilities.  Not changing my keyboard, it's not worth the effort for me .
