Sorry I haven't posted much this week.  I'm having some issues with my Barrett's Esophagus. Here's some information if you're interested. It's a  complication of GERD, which stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease;  A digestive disease in which stomach acid or bile irritates the food pipe lining. My pain is lower than in the chest. In  Barrett's esophagus , normal tissue lining the  esophagus  -- the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach -- changes to tissue that resembles the lining of the intestine. There is a small risk of dysplasia (   pre-cancerous). Here's my condition. I have it checked every few years as the doctor recommends but lately I'm having trouble with gas and a small amount of pain.  I've tried altering my diet with only minor improvement. This Friday I'm seeing a different doctor for another opinion. Hopefully I'll only need an increase or change of medication, not something like ca...

I went for a walk this morning in Clearbrook Park near my home.  This time of year is just before when the leaves begin to change into their Autumn colors. This short bridge near the entrance goes over a stream which comes from the lake in the park. For exercise I often walk through the park for about forty minutes.

Here's a video about Poe's life and one of my favorite poems The Raven. What I find amazing is how The Raven sort of predicted the death of his wife and his own.

This one little pumpkin is my entire harvest!  When I threw last year's pumpkin into the garden many seeds sprouted this past Spring. Lynette pulled out most of the plants to make room for Sunflowers. But the vine that remained only grew this one pumpkin. At least I have one. This will be our Halloween Pumpkin.  It's too small to carve so I'll leave it as is.
